Sales figures that might actually mean something
Fyidriving.com isn’t really interested in sales figures of the automakers because, well, business news is pretty boring when compared to giving you the goods on hot new product.
Still, even fyidriving.com’s eyes grew wide with some of the June sales figures being thrown around by some car companies.
Chrysler posted the best May it has had in five years (pre-bankruptcy) while Chrysler Canada is saying it’s year-to-date sales are the best in a decade.
Certainly having a revamped product line helps and unit sales are no real indicator of whether a company is profitable, so it’s more an indicator of buyer confidence.
Meanwhile, Toyota sales for May are apparently up nearly 90 percent and while that seems like a lot – and it is – consider that 12 months ago the automaker was crippled by a devastating tsunami.
