The high-performance, high-fuel economy AMG V8
Owners of the new Mercedes-Benz SLK55 AMG will get the best of both worlds with a new 5.5-liter V8 engine that increases horsepower to 415, but the engine will consume about 30 percent less fuel, thanks to the new AMG cylinder management system and direct fuel injection.
The all-new 2012 SLK55 AMG debuts at Frankfurt auto show in September, and it remains the only roadster in its segment with an eight-cylinder engine. Fuel economy estimates haven’t yet been released.
