Royal Oak police ticket more than 50 cruisers

Royal Oak police issued more than 50 tickets for traffic violations and arrested a person who yelled obscenities and threw eggs at an abortion protester’s signs during this past weekend’s Woodward Dream Cruise.
But like in other communities along Woodward Avenue, police report that the crowds in the city that is considered to be the cruise epicenter were largely well-behaved.
“It was very smooth. The crowd was great,” said Royal Oak Police Lt. Gordon Young.
Young said officers in Royal Oak wrote 53 citations for traffic violations Saturday. Included among those were three citations ...
